Kaity Healy joined the American University women's basketball staff as an assistant coach in July, 2022, under first-year head coach Tiffany Coll.

Healy, a native of Freehold, N.J., gained a variety of experience the three seasons prior to coming to American, with stops at FDU in 2021-22 as assistant coach, Florida International University (FIU) in 2020-21 as the assistant director of basketball operations, and Patriot League foe Holy Cross in 2019-20 as the director of basketball operations. Healy helped guide FDU to a Northeast Conference regular season title and WNIT berth in 2022, and was part of the NEC Coaching Staff of the Year while at FDU and the Conference USA Coaching Staff of the Year while at FIU.

In her playing days, Healy was a four-year letterwinner and three-time team captain for Seton Hall, competing for the Pirates from 2015 until 2019. Off the court, she was a four-year selection to the Dean's List for Seton Hall's Stillman School of Business and to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team. In 2018, she was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, an honor society for student-athletes holding a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher.

Throughout her collegiate career, Healy received multiple opportunities for leadership development, including being named to the Class of 2019 for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "So You Want to Be A Coach" program. She was selected to attend the New Jersey Association of Athletics for Women Leadership Symposium in 2018, and she also participated in the University and BIG EAST Time Management Plan Committee in 2017-2018.

Healy was also the women's basketball team representative for Seton Hall's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and represented Seton Hall at the BIG EAST's annual SAAC Meeting in 2017, in which student-athletes from BIG EAST schools gathered to discuss and increase awareness of mental health issues.

Michelle Holmes, a standout player for American University who graduated in 2016, was hired as an assistant coach for the women's basketball program in July, 2022 under first-year head coach Tiffany Coll.

Holmes came to coaching from a different path than most since her graduation from American and her degree in sociology. After stints in research and evaluation with AmeriCorp Vista and as a market researcher, she became a special agent/investigator with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency in Washington, D.C. Holmes took that role in January of 2018, and spent over four years conducting national security background investigations for the federal government.

Holmes was a standout post player for the Eagles, helping lead the team to its first-ever Patriot League Championship as a junior in 2014-15. She was named to both the Patriot League Third Team and Patriot League All-Tournament Team, leading the team with 220 rebounds (6.7 per game) which ranks sixth all-time in a single season. Holmes holds the AU record for single-season field-goal percentage, hitting 64.3 percent of her shots as a sophomore, and ranks third all-time in career field-goal percentage at .535. Her 556 career rebounds rank 16th all-time.

Claire Mattox joined the AU women's basketball staff as an assistant coach in July, 2022, after three years at Cornell University. 

Mattox was named to the WBCA's prestigious Thirty Under 30 list after her first season at Cornell in 2019-20. She worked with the Big Red guards, and the stats for three-pointers made per game rose consistently while she was on staff. Prior to Cornell, Mattox spent three years as an assistant coach at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and two seasons at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kan.

At Division III Vassar, Mattox had responsibilities ranging from practice and player development to game planning, recruiting and fundraising. She helped head coach Candice Signor-Brown's team go from 12 to 17 to 21 wins in their three seasons together on the bench. The 21 wins in 2018-19 were the second-most in program history, with the Brewers earning the school's first-ever at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. For their collective success, the Vassar coaching group was named the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.

At the University of Saint Mary, Mattox served as the recruiting coordinator, along with assisting the head coach with other areas such as planning practices, skill development and game preparation, as well as serving as the junior varsity coach. She also served in Athletic Operations Management, employing work study students that were in charge of organizing and overseeing all athletic events.

Mattox was a four-year letterwinner at Washington College in Chestertown, Md. She was selected as a team captain her senior year and also earned a spot on the 2012 All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team. While at Washington, she was selected to participate in the WBCA "So You Want To Be A Coach" program in 2014. She graduated with a degree in environmental science and a minor in biology and creative writing in 2014, then earned her MBA in business administration from Saint Mary in 2016. Mattox has worked numerous camps throughout the East Coast and has presented annually at the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Convention.
